As I continue exploring the coast, I had the privilege of learning more about the Portuguese and Arab invasion there. Fort Jesus is quite historic dating more than 5 centuries ago. At one time, the Fort was under siege for 3 years and the 4,000 soldiers in it died from hunger with only 15 of them remaining but were later butchered by the invaders.
