Pomade

I think I am having the peripheral vision right now. I can see at the side of my left eye, a small white thing. I can sense this thing is staring at me. (My third eye is closed.) In addition, I can smell pomade. My son doesn’t use pomade. Our neighbors at the left side of our house are not yet home. I asked my sister and my son if they smell pomade and they responded NO. My father never used pomade. But my late uncle, the brother of my mother, used pomade. It was Three Flowers medicated pomade. For sure some of my Filipino friends here know about this name of pomade. (There was also the Tancho Tique Pomade). I am not scared. How about you? When you smell something that your family don’t smell, do you feel frightened?

Sometimes I get the scent of perfume - but then it could be someone out on the road. Some perfumes shout instead of whisper.

oh, my goodness! that was so funny! for me, it would be a perfume called 'poison' years ago. it was polarizing. some loved it, some hated it.

indeed, perfumes should be dubbed or applied in areas where pulsations are, like the wrists, temples, and anterior neck.

@hereandthere poison is a good perfume, it was for women but i gave a bottle to my father. it should be dubbed in small quantities only because if it is applied in large amount, it can hurt our sense of smell.

my father's pomade was green and in a glass container with a gold metal cap. if it's your uncle's spirit, why do you think he's visiting? is there a significant date coming up?

if it was my uncle visiting us, maybe he wanted prayers. the scent came but only for a short time. no significant dates too.

One evening in our house about 7 year ago, I usually mylot till midnight. Earlier that night my husband asked me if I was singing but I said no. Then midnight came and I heard someone humming a lullaby. No baby in the house so it was impossible that our maid was doing that plus I was pretty certain she was sleeping. I tired to listen some more and it was coming from the wall. So I went to bed, woke my husband up and told him I could hear a woman singing. He didn't budge at all so I just went to bed. Now it would be impossible to have that in our house because I have personally blessed this house and have burned all the bad spirits.

could it be possible that there was a soul who came into your house, and wanted prayers? in the Catholic belief, a poor soul needs prayers from the living souls.

@ridingbet This is also what we believe in Italy. Last week, going downstairs in the basement, I felt a strong smell of whisky. I called my husband to check, we went downstairs and the smell disappeared.

@LadyDuck maybe that spirit did not want your husband to know its presence that time you went down to your house.

there is a belief here that when one smells something, like the candle, or perfume, a wandering spirit is present.

No, I don't get frightened, I get annoyed. And then I tell them I think they have blocked noses.

right, but if you know where the smell comes from. in my case, no one is using pomade and the neighbor whose house is so close to our own house, was not yet home that time.

Some people here can be quite superstitious about nice smells. When I was a kid I still remember people telling me that there's a nice but unusual smell, keep it to myself and don't say anything. I'm not into this kind of thing though, although it is a bit strange.
