All Done With the Vein Specialist

Today was my followup appointment with the vein specialist. I had an ablation on each leg, plus sclerotherapy on the right, about two months ago. So today I met with the specialist so he could see how I'm doing, and he's very pleased with the results. The only symptom I have left from venous insufficiency is my right leg (the area right below my knee) is still swollen, but he said it could take a while to shrink back to a more normal size depending on how long my veins were refluxing, and that maybe one leg will just always be bigger than the other if the tissue doesn't shrink back down.
Anyway, I don't have to go back to that specialist again unless I have any further issues down the road, and I no longer have to wear compression stockings. I am so glad! That's one less specialist I have to go to and those compression stockings aren't really that comfortable. Anyway, hopefully I don't have any issues with my veins again, at least not for a long time. (I'm sure I'll likely get more varicose veins as I get older, but hopefully that won't happen for a while.)
Anyway, yay for getting one health issue treated!

Thank you. Those stockings are so hard to get on sometimes too. I'm glad I don't have to wear them anymore.

I'll bet you did a happy dance after that appointment! I remember when my SIL got the good news that all was good. She was so happy. She too no longer has to wear compression stockings.

@Srbageldog I was told I could wear the mild compression stockings for my tired and achy legs. I'll put them up at the end of the day before I'll wear them.

@ElusiveButterfly They do help some with swelling and achiness, but they are such a pain to put on and then they make your legs all hot and sweaty. At least mine did (especially in the summer.)

I was definitely happy! I can understand why your SIL was happy too. Those compression stockings are such a pain!

I think it's genetic. My mom has them really bad, her mom had them bad, and my great-grandma had them so bad her legs were black! My sister also has them pretty bad. I didn't have them until I gained weight, so that might have also contributed to it.

Thank you! Those stockings are so difficult to get on, too. I'm glad to not need them anymore.

@Srbageldog You have already so many doctor appointments that one less is surely a relief.

I am glad for it too. One less specialist to see = less appointments I have to run around to!
