The Meters are an American funk band from New Orleans, Louisiana. Their genre is New Orleans rhythm and blues, funk. They played and recorded their own music from the late 1960s to 1977. Their hits are mostly dance instrumentals among them “Cissy Strut”, “Look-Ka Py Py” and “Chicken Strut”. In 1995 they released Funkily Your Life a two-CD compilations other their earlier work. In 2000 they came together for a one-night only concert in San Francisco. What do you think of their style?
The band generally referred to as The 'Original' Meters to differentiate between The Funky Meters. This is the second track off their first, self titled 1969...

Me too and there seem to be many such bands out there that might have an interesting sound but don't become too popular @JohnRoberts
