Livewire

Our house is situated at the corner of a crossroad. When I drive, my son should traffic so I won't bump or hit any passing vehicle.
Last night while I was checking on my notifications I and my son heard a very loud sound then the street light in front of our house went off. There was a big truck that stopped.
My son and I went out. We saw our neighbour drive their car going north. Another neighbor shouted at the driver of the big truck, " Sir, don't pass through. That is a livewire ". A livewire was hanging loosely.
Apparently our neighbours went after a big truck that previously caused the electric wire to dangle. The road leading out of our place is also closed for big and heavyweight trucks and buses.
My sister called the electric company to report the incident.
They say it is better to have a house robbed than getting it burned. The livewire here connects many houses.

yes that is true. the wire was cut off but the pathway between our house and the neighbors in our right is not lit at night anymore. i don't know when they will fix the line again

@SIMPLYD yes, no one was. the neighbor was alert in saying to the man to not pass the truck because of the livewire

@ridingbet It takes a long time to fix the problem I see. I hope the light in the pathway will be fixed soon.

@LadyDuck it is not yet fixed. last night, it was so dark outside my room. the main street has light, but not in the pathway. i hope to take a picture tonight.

the main wire is fixed, but the electrical wire along the pathway outside my room is not, that is why it is dark because the light posts are not switched on.

Livewire?! This reminds me when I was still in the Philippines . . There was a special show presented by a local beerhouse one night. It was called LIVEWIRE . . . A man and a woman "doing" it while we watched!

@DianneN that is why she developed the phobia of fire. even when a candle is lit and the wind blows, she 'kills' the fire in the candle's wick.

it is hard to have fire in a house. there was a time that
our dirty kitchen was burned. it was immediately put off, but the left arm of my sister had 2nd degree burns because she wanted to pull the washing machine out of the burning kitchen.

the linemen fixed the wire but still the light posts at the side of our house are still without lights. they are not switched on since the livewire incident. i guess they don't put the lights on for safety purposes.
