Before I head off to Nashville I need to clear that bubblegum music I just posted out of your head. I'll do that with another one of the songs that's a staple in FM rock that I actually like. This is another shocker to most people, given that I don't like this band in general. Here's today's song. #5: The Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin I've never been a Led Zeppelin fan. I acknowledge they have had a tremendous influence on rock music, but they've never been my cup of tea. In fact, I've frequently said that they conveniently put my favorite Led Zep songs on one 45: "Fool in the Rain" and "Hot Dog." But there's one other dark secret lurking in there: this song. My brother had the 45, so I guess that's where the seeds for liking this song was planted in my head. So, in reality, Led Zep conveniently put my favorite songs of theirs on one 45, plus a song I can tolerate on another one. Thanks. Saved me buying the LPs. The Immigrant Song Written by Robert Plant and Jimmy Page Recorded by Led Zeppelin From Led Zeppelin III, 1970 Valhalla, I am coming:

That song is playing in my head right now! Be careful, such admissions may lead to you having to turn in your hillbilly card.

Actually that Led Zep III album is quite good. Plant and Page and company moved away from the Heavy Metal a bit and had more acoustic and folk feel to some of the songs. The Immigrant Song was a concert opener for the group from 1970-72.
