Feeling like She-Ra doing this!

So I have two of those long white wired metal shelves. One is currently hanging up in what my husband refers to as the Den. It has our computer/writing desk, my sewing machine with desk, and the girls craft/writing table. Plus some other stuff to hold crafts and school supplies. Its so cluttered and my stash of supplies keeps growing (yay) but it is getting more disorganized. So I decided its time to put the second one up and I'd like to move the first one, so it looks like one long shelf instead of two just hung up wherever on the wall ones. My husband did the first shelf...a while ago. I'm not having much luck with this experience! I started with using a little screw to start the hole, to then take it out and use the real long screws that came with the hang up kit. I feel like the Goldie locks and the three screws right now. Then I decided, I might as well make this go quicker and use his electric drill. I'm not a huge fan of it.. I have at one point in the past accidentally drilled through my finger once. It wasn't a fun experience. Now by this time.. I am bound and determined.. I AM going to get at least one shelf up! One hour later.. many lost and stripped screws.. that shelf is up! I feel like She-ra! Are you good using tools? Do you prefer simple hand ones or electric tools?

Good for you! Luckily my husband likes putting up shelves and stuff so I only have to ask.

@Daelii It's always good to be able to do these things yourself rather than have to rely on someone else.

@JudyEv exactly! I like trying to do the things I can do. It makes it a lot easier to then have more time to do fun things together as a family or to give him a chance to relax and take a break.

I wonder how many people here know who She-Ra is without googling it lol

lol! I didn't even think of that! My husband found it on netflex and my girls have been watching it. I remember seeing it as a kid on saturday morning cartoons!

I am very bad at using tools and now that I am on my own I will have to consider what to do with all of my husband's tools and stuff. I do know I will sell the electric saw. Congrats on getting that shelf up.

Thank you! I recently learnt how to use my husband's smaller electric saw. I had to cut the boards to install my own floor. It was a fun challenging project!

I'm pretty good at using tools. Mom wasn't and when dad left the household as the oldest kid, I took it upon myself to put things together at home
