Favorite Side Projects #1 - A Perfect Circle

Now THIS is how you do a side project! We are at #1 in my Favorite Side Projects series, and that distinction belongs to A Perfect Circle.
A Perfect Circle was formed by guitarist Billy Howerdel, who had worked as a guitar technician for Nine Inch Nails, Fishbone, Smashing Pumpkins, and Tool, and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, in 1999. The two had become friends during a 1992 Fishbone/Tool tour. Eventually, Howerdel played Keenan his demo's, with the idea of having a female vocalist sing them. Keenan, however, "heard" himself singing those songs, and a partnership was born. A Perfect Circle has released just three studio albums, but have sold over four million records worldwide.
Howerdel and Keenan have been the group's only constants, but the lineup has always been a supergroup, with musicians such as drummer Josh Freese, Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha (a current member,) Marilyn Manson guitarist/bassist Jeordie White (also known as Twiggy Ramirez,) and current Pixies bassist/vocalist/violinist Paz Lenchantin, among others, having served time in the project.
Despite the turnover, the band's sound has remained consistent, with Howerdel writing the music, and Keenan the lyrics. And while the group's last album was released in 2004, they are still active (in fact, A Perfect Circle are currently touring.)
I've linked to the official video for my favorite A Perfect Circle song, "Weak and Powerless."
Enjoy!

It is a bit dark. It's about heroin addiction.

@amadeo - The song is about heroin addiction, so maybe the snakes and stuff are symbolic in some way. I've never figured it out.

The video creeps me out because of the snakes and bugs. But I love the song.

That is me, weak and powerless. I make bad jokes. Love this band and all did like all three of those bands with Tool being my favorite. Glad they stuck with Keenan as singer. Love his voice and singing style.
