On our outing today, one of the places that my brother took me was to a doctor's appointment, where I was to get the results of the MRI I had a while ago, which I got because of the problem I'm having with numbness in my legs when I walk. The doctor told me today that the MRI showed that I have 1) Spinal Stenosis, which is a narrowing of the "tunnel" in the middle of the backbone/spine that compresses the spinal cord, and 2) a bulging (I think she said bulging) disc. She has scheduled physical therapy for me, but said that down the road I may need surgery. Surgery or the thought of it dosen't bother me in the least, though when my brother heard that (I told him after getting out to the appointment) he said, "Don't have surgery, it will just make your back worse."

I hope therapy helps. I hate to say it but my father had back surgery and he did say it made his back worse, pain wise. I'm sure it's not always the case though.

I hope the physical therapy helps. I know a couple people who had back surgery and ended up worse, but that is not always the case.
