I’m just a little late with this, but I thought I would fit it in, just before heading off to bed. It’s 1AM. Yikes.
My son signed me up on Ancestry.com, so I got started with that yesterday and found it very fascinating. And I got behind on my Daily Posts, but I will catch up tomorrow.
Anyway, here’s the ODD Fact for the day. More disturbing to me than ODD. What do you think?
Did you know that New York City produces 20,000 tons of solid waste EVERY DAY and how about this?
More than 125,000 babies will be born into this world, before you can read a 300 page book. Think about all those disposable diapers that will go into the landfills every day.

Good point about the disposable diapers. Where's the outcry over that from environmentalists?

Nursing homes also use thousands of disposable diapers ever day and they all end up in a landfill somewhere. I never used disposable diapers for my older children. I used only cloth diapers. When they were teenagers, I had another baby and continued to use cloth diapers, except for when we went on a trip.
But, even then, he developed a diaper rash and I had to stop using those disposable diapers and purchase some cloth diapers for the rest of the trip. And every night I had to wash the diapers at a coin laundry which was very inconvenient.

You got that right. I think I will give a few more facts on that subject. It's absolutely amazing! Did you ever see the movie "WALL-E?" It's an animated movie for children with an ADULT message about the garbage situation in this world.

Yes, it is. That's why the world population is growing every year. I did my share, of course. I have FIVE children. But they have only produced four grand children for me. And four great grand children.

For that reason I think it was so much better that when I was a baby my mom used cloth diapers and had a diaper service. There are reusable diapers that are a much better idea online.

Yes, cloth diapers were what I used for my babies. But, I understand the convenience of disposable diapers. Nursing homes also use thousands of disposable diapers too. I was a private duty nurse for several years.
