I just read an article from Earthing Institute about people who have improved their health by the natural connection with Planet Earth.. Our planet is actually a magnet and most of us are disconnected with it - so it seems we need this connection to stay healthier..
It can be done in many ways, as is explained here.. Most of us cant't walk barefoot on grass, this time, especially in winter, but we can get connection with our planet in other ways..

Reconnecting People to the Planet Diabetes • From a 60-year-old man in Finland, diagnosed with diabetes in 2005, and neuropathy of the legs in 2006: “I’ve been using pain medication since then. I have experienced ‘icy’ pain in the soles of the feet duri

Yes, the food was much healthier in their time, and most people must have got contact with the earth otherwise - by working with plants and trees.. Also the water we drink most times comes from underground..

@buenavida The water is polluted, because the dangerous waste we throw in the nature penetrate the ground and reach the underground sources of water.

What ways are there as my friend was bitten by a tick and it has caused quite a health challenge for her?

@1hopefulman I've seen some mats - maybe connected to the earth, or in some other way - they can be used indoors.. also sheets, that can be used while sleeping..

@buenavida Earthing with bare feet can get bidden. Maybe at one time it was not a problem but these days Lyme diseases caused by tick bites can be very harmful.

We do what some things might be strange, like connect with the planet by walking barefoot on the ground. We were taught walking on dirt is best, but grass or sand is okay.
It is fascinating to consider the simple things we can do to get or stay healthy. The answers are all here, we just need to look for them!

We should connect with planet earth, but if we are afraid of ticks or other insects, we can find other solution, see the discussion with Felix below..

Interesting idea although I believe health is associated with a lot of other factors as well. I don't know much about Earthing though.
