Backpacking: "A Way of Seeing the World"

There are so many ways to see the world by traveling. It doesn’t need to be extravagant in buying high-class plane tickets or commuting in a luxurious bus. In 2010, the simplest way to explore Tajikistan is being a backpacker. As a volunteer in this country, I had embraced living a modest lifestyle. It is also a perfect for the grassroots approach in carrying out my medical mission. My best buddy is my overused backpacker and it always ready to accompany me. Here are some advantages of ‘backpacking’: 1. It is an inexpensive way to travel to certain places. 2. It enhances your way of being independent. 3. It can experience the way of living with the locals. 4. It satisfies the passion of having a leisure activity. “How would you like to travel if you were given the chance?” Image Credit: pixabay.com

I think we can take a rest of using the backpack while on travel.

I do agree with you. It doesn't need to overspend.

I am now a 45 year old lady and these days I travel with my two children. I think back to my backpacker days with much happiness and fondness. I bought a ticket to take me around the world when I was 20 years old. I let out my cottage to get a monthly income and got a working holiday visa for Australia. I thought that I would spend 3 to 4 weeks getting from the UK to Australia. I stopped off in Los Angeles, Hawaii and Fiji. I had two free flights in Australia which were Sydney to Adelaide and Cairns to Darwin. On my way home I visited Singapore. From there I backpacked around Sumatra and Malaysia.

Our next trip will be London-Oslo-Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur-Osaka-Honolulu-Oakland-London next year. Air Asia is ready and we are waiting for Norwegian Air. We loved seeing Bohol Island and we can stay for up to 21 days in the Philippines without a visa. We needed visas for India and Sri Lanka.

Wow! You really had the best adventure at a young age. Now, you are a loving mother with kiddies. I think it is possible as they grow older. The best backpacking experience with the whole family. I never tried to hop from one country to another. But, I am looking forward to do this adventure in the future.

I have no idea but I do know that I would love to get back to the states and get a trailer and travel all across the states.

We have lots of backpackers in our area. Most seem to be really enjoying their time here but they'll soon move on to have new adventures.

That's the best thing for backpackers. They can move anytime and find a new adventure along the journey.

I also like backpacking. I miss nature actually where you can stay in the wild of the night. When I was an active Mountain Climbing, I really like the idea of spending the night under the dark sky. I remember when I and the boyfriend are still friends. We did some backpacking when some friends. We stayed near the river, it was awesome. Then we need to walk ourselves through the forest to reach the other city.

It was an overwhelming experience. If I don't have anything to deal with, I can set off to another place and carry with me the backpack.

I agree with you Shavkat that backpacking is an interesting way to see places you may not ordinarily get to otherwise. I have never done it but remember people use to backpack all over Europe.

@Shavkat Shavkat, I will pass on that because I am too old to do that and also I am not suppose to use backpacks even though I do because of my bad shoulders.
