Finally Heard From the Specialist

Those of you who follow me, are probably aware that I've been waiting to hear word from my gynecological oncologist on when I'm to have surgery to treat severe endometriosis. It's been almost 2 months since I last saw him, and for the last six or so weeks I've been calling his office, only to get directed to voicemail, and nobody would return my calls. Yesterday the receptionist finally called me back. She said she'd been out all this time and apologized that nobody has called me back before then. She explained that the scheduling at their office is crazy during this time of year, with many of their staff losing hours. Anyway, the doctor wanted her to call and let me know that he will be performing my surgery either at the end of January or beginning of February. They haven't booked a set date yet, but she promised that she'd work on it next week and call me back with a set date within the next two weeks. I guess it's better than nothing. At least now I know when to expect my surgery to happen, and I can start preparing myself for it.
