This was my Christmas present from my husband like 2 years ago. Of course in blue as it is my favorite color. I think it is 7 quarts. It might be 8 but I doubt it. Let me check the company web site. . . Yup, it is 7 and 1/4 quarts if we want to get specific. The current list price is $370.00. I believe my husband paid $350. This is one of my most favorite pieces of kitchen equipment. I make soups, stews, and braises in it all fall/winter/spring. The enamel coating means that nothing sticks to it so it cleans easily. I am really bad and I just put it into the dishwasher. It is a large piece so it takes up most of the bottom rack but I don't care as long as I don't have to hand-wash it. Hand washing it is easy, though, too. I know this after my 3 month adventure with the broken dishwasher. If my kitchen was on fire and I had to grab just 1 thing, it would probably be this Le Creuset Dutch Oven. It is a total workhorse. Yes, it is expensive but it is very high-quality and will last forever. I already had a cheapo one that I've had to throw away.

Such a great piece to have if you actually COOK food and not just heat up processed garbage.

I have a cast iron Dutch Oven that I use when making stews. It is not enamel coated though so I need to watch the flame so nothing scorches.

My boyfriend bought an old cast iron one at a yard sale. He loves it because it can be used in the oven or outside over a fire. They go camping a lot so its useful for them. He used it inside on my stovetop once after using it in a campfire oh man did that stink up my house and make my asthma flare up.

It is a French brand. They are about 30% less expensive here, but I cannot tell if it would have been more interesting to order it in France, due to custom fees.
