Love the Quora intelligence community. Don't you? I like it because people ask questions I never think to ask. Like this one. How can I identify the smartest person in the room? The writer starts the conversation by saying: “People always ask about the smartest person in the room ...” And I'm thinking: 'Do they? Do they really? Always??' Because I have never thought to ask that question. When you go to a party, church fellowship, or social gathering like a company get together, do you start looking around the room and thinking 'Wonder who the smartest person is in here?' Ah well! Though I never thought to ask, at least now I know that if I did ask, there is a way of identifying WHO is Mr. or Ms. Genius Braniac! It was a fun question with a fun response. I enjoyed it! The folks at Quora are serious folks but they also take time to laugh.

Those comments on Quora did make sense because without questions well their can't be an answer? But there is a better way. It is obvious who the smartest ones are. They are the ones that put something in their name like "wise one" or something after their name like MBA or in front like DR. even if they really aren't.

I never think that when I walk in a room. But probably from now on I will!

I read somewhere that if you like to look slim hang out with fat people. Usually I'm the smartest person in the room....need I elaborate? Kidding aside why would I want to find the smartest person in a social event? I'll gravitate to the most fun person. But if you need to find the smartest person do what Bill Gates advice, look for the laziest.

I do remember Bill Gates saying that. Long before he said, my late sister and one of my brothers both told me the same thing.
