Tea Fish

United States

One of the presents I got was a tea mug with a lid that holds a fish. The fish is hanging from a line that attaches to the lid. You open the fishes mouth and put loose leaf tea in him. It's really quite cute. I also got some loose leaf teas with the gift. I find the "single serve" sachets to have a little more tea than I really need to fit the fishy though. I am not craving any of the teas that are in the set right now, but am considering opening a tea bag of one of my other teas and letting it steep in the little fishy. That is provided I have milk... Do you own a cup like this? Mine came from an Asian Country but am not sure which.

I failed to mention that the lid has ears like a cat's. If I had the lid with me I would take a picture, but I washed the lid and am just sipping on the tea now.

I have to take the picture with my phone, upload the picture to facebook, save it to my laptop and then post it here. I was feeling a bit lazy.

It is very cute. The whole mug is a cat. The lid has cat ears on it, and the handle is the cat's tail.

@Hatley I understood part of that Hatley, but I didn't understand the rest of it, I'm sorry. I know you said it was really cute, but I didn't understand the rest.

No, I do not have anything like this. I am not a tea drinker, but I have a traditional tea pot and cups to serve tea.

The traditional tea pot can be used for so much more as well. We don't have the traditional tea pot here and I don't think anyone in my family ever has. We have the tea kettle that resembles the tea pot but that you put on the stove. No one ever uses it anymore, I always use my electric one.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The tea pot should never be used other than for tea. You put tea leaves inside and you should only wash with water, because the tea built up a "flavor" with the use. I have one for Chinese style tea and one for Japanese green tea, they are very different.

Definitely very nice. I hope I use it a lot, I am not that much of a tea drinker.

I thought so too. I hadn't explicitly heard of them before, but I hadn't not heard of them either, if that makes any sense.
