John ponders the meaning of life as time takes him into another year

John was in the habit of pondering hard and long on every experience and event in his life, to try to extract some higher meaning from it all.

On the cusp of a new year, John asked himself this question: "How can I improve my life in 2018?" John wondered to himself then, why he should even try to improve his life, at all. "Are we here to improve our life, and to learn some type of lessons while we are here then, or not (from our various experiences here)?" John thought this now to himself, before he pondered on some more like this: "When something happens in our life, like today, when some other man was chosen to take down the Communion gift to the Priest today in Church, instead of me, who usually does this, is there any lesson in that for me, or is it just a random happening, with no real connection, or meaning, or lesson element to it, for me, at all?" Jack Small had been asked to take it down the front to the priest, on this the last day of the old year, instead of John, who had been doing it every week, of the year, before that. "Well," John thought aloud, "the life of each person revolves around themselves until it revolves around love, which it can only do once you accept Jesus Christ into your life fully." "Every experience is then one with Jesus in it too, and so you gain love from it, by allowing an unseen truth to be brought out to you, so you grow in that truth of love, understanding it more wisely, and so you are then able to live from it more wisely then too." John was in the habit of pondering hard and long on every experience and event in his life, like this, in order for him to try to extract some higher meaning from it all, for himself, that he could take on board to improve himself by. John expected that in the New Year, he would continue to do this too. Picture credit: The picture used here has been freely taken from the free media site, Pixabay.com.

As is said, we are all human and get hurt easily. However, when we put others ahead of us, or on par with us, in this humongous journey we share, then we have no ego and what others do and we do have the same impact. The oneness of humanity and the uniqueness in each make for the most sublime fulfillment. Rejoice that we are part of god's creation and he does not discriminate. We are one and the same - siva

Yes, if we see we are one and the same, we are happy to share everything in our lives with everyone else. We do not want some exclusivity set aside for ourselves anymore, which is mostly an ego thing. Thanks Siva. It's just turned New Year here now. Happy New Year!!

@innertalks Thank you, Happy New Year, you are ahead by three hours. There is a countdown to new year near my place, so will be going over to enjoy with the gathering there. Exclusivity is a burden and let us let go what we should without a second thought - siva

@Shiva49 I guess, as it is said in Ecclesiastes, there is a time and a place for everything, so perhaps there is an appropriate time a time and place too for being in the limelight, but it should never lead us to pride, or to developing a larger ego.
