I've had my first post deleted. I guess it must have violated some rule to wish you all a happy new year.
Oh well. Que sera sera.
I didn't do anything special for the last day of the year. We just stayed in and watched the ball drop. I had a glass of sparkling cider (apple and mango flavored) and kissed my boyfriend at midnight. Then I toasted our cat and gave him a nice big kiss on the head, much to his dismay.
Here's hoping 2018 is better than 2017. Last year was really crummy.

That makes me think of "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," when the cat gets toasted after chewing on the Christmas lights. On Christmas Eve my parents' kitten was messing around with their tree, and the lights started flickering -- we all freaked out that she had suffered the same fate as that cat in the movie. Luckily she was just knocking the cord loose from the outlet, naughty thing. 
Mr. Lister (my cat) knows better than to do that, although he did try to knock my little tree over this year.

@Srbageldog That's funny, I had the same situation happen back when I was 9 or 10. Our cat did the same thing, and we freaked out thinking it was about to get electrocuted. But just like in your situation, the cat had just wiggled the plug loose from the outlet!

Sorry to hear last year was crummy.
We stayed in, shared some sparkling peach apple cider. I kissed my boyfriend and my 7 month old daughter on the forehead. Here's to a new year of hopefully good fortune!!
Last yr was a slight struggle, the first month my boyfriend was in work release. The next 4 months my bf barely had any hours so I had to work extra to stay a float. Then a few days shy of christmas I lost my job that I had just started in November. Left my old job of 2 yrs for a "unique opportunity". Not the best way to end a yr, but hey let's hope this one is better!
On a positive note I became a mom, we became a family. And we are over a year sober!

That sparkling peach apple cider is so good! I like the mango one too. I hope that this year will be better for you and your family! Congrats on becoming parents, and on being over a year sober! That is awesome!

@Srbageldog I would love to try mango, I didn't see it! Thanks. It honestly wasn't too much of a struggle for me. My boyfriend struggled for a cpl months then it was easy for him too. Its nice living a better lifestyle. I hope things work out for you as well!

I didn't toast my cat. We went to bed early. I was afraid she would meow alot because of the celebrations outside, but she didn't.

That is good she didn't meow because of the noise outside. I thought my cat would be scared of all the fireworks going off around the neighborhood, but he just kept snoozing away. He must be used to some of the noise by now.
