Indonesia consists of many an island, which used to be one big island. It is said that holocaust of volcano eruptions seperated the island into many thousand islands of today. The Holocaust survivors were swept away to many parts of the world. Not sure if this is true or not. Has any of mylotters heard about this?

I am interested in finding our more about it. If there used to be only one big island in the past, there must have been remains of old buildings buried.

Yes, they were. But more detailed history should be revealed. Remains of ancient buildings must have been buried under deep oceans.

I am not sure. My country has a lot of volcanoes. I hope it will not separate the islands if one volcano will erupt.

It certainly happened in similar ways in other parts of the world so it could very well be true there as well.

I haven't heard of this but it's quite feasible. Are many of the islands uninhabited?
