We need cockroach festival

Especially Hindus. I mean think about it..those fireworks (we Indians call them crackers) cause pollution. Why can't we Indians have a festival where we kill cockroaches and weigh them. Whoever kills the most cockroaches gets a prize... We could do that to rats and mice as well...spiders ..(hopefully not lizards) That could become a worthwhile tradition because it would prevent so many health problems. Nothing celebratory other than @JolietJake's birthday as per Indian Standard Time. He shares his birthday with Deepika Padukone, a beautiful dimpled Indian actress. So bro..Many Happy Returns of the day. Thank you for being you. Thank you for making me realize fathers care. Thank you for making me realize that each relationship has its boundaries and we have no business to be judgmental beyond that, notwithstanding whatever be the flaws. I share a beautiful relationship now with my only surviving parent and family thanks to you. You are a blessing. Love...hugs..tc

Just get rid of those gross cockroaches and you do not need a festival when you do.

Come to think of it you are right. Celebration should come after I kill one. After all, there is one enemy less to fear. Right?

My mother will freak out seeing these creatures. I think it is a festival if a certain place has such insects.

Ha ha.. I don't know about festival, but I know few people here who will never dare to touch those cockroaches and rats, as they get afraid of them. I wonder how will they manage to celebrate then. Belated happy birthday to him.

@vandana7 So you are not taking part in the festival. That's wrong. One should celebrate all of them together. Ohh.. So as per IST its already up. I thought I am late already.

I am absolutely original. I can even have a logo. Image of cockroach with Nazi swastik on it. It is going to be genocide of sorts after all..sorry to those whose sentiments are hurt...not meant to make light of what happened in Nazi Germany.

Well, you cannot wait for cockroaches to grow to look like it as genocide, we can eliminate them when they're not yet hatch from eggs

@vandana7 In some places people eat cockroaches...cockroaches are a delicacy. We could have a cockroach feast...but then I don't think any of us are desperate enough (or crazy enough) to do that.

@vandana7 from what I discovered when I looked it up there are six kinds of cockroach species in Latvia and three of them live in the woods. I suppose in the city center there are places that are filthy and have roaches but I live in the suburbs and have never seen any.

No don't get rid of spiders they help reduce the fly and mosquito population. Rats and mice that is a different matter!

I agree, for flies and mosquitoes spiders are a great help. Somebody today said may be microchips can be inserted in rats and they can be released in enemy territory to do spying work. Now that would be useful way to use rats...especially where there are landmines.

@mohit459 So much the better. You see when they become endangered, we can cultivate them in kitchens and export and earn in dollars to pay for petrol.

I disagree with you Vandy as these poor creatures also have life just like the human beings . Even though I do not like them , I wont kill them.Instead of killing them , I would rather suggest you to catch them alive and leave them in a place far away from human beings...

We have a lot of child labor going into making those fireworks, in poor, not well lit, and unhygienic conditions. This would certainly be less noisy and better way to celebrate a day. Thanks for thinking it as brilliant. lol.

@vandana7 - It is even sadder now that I know that children make those fireworks. I agree that a cockroach festival would be a much better idea! Get rid of those cockroaches and celebrate doing it!
