like many of you.. I spent yesterday taking down and putting away christmas decorations ... I was sad to see some go away...
Do you have a favourite Christmas decoration... ??  I have two or three that I like very much.., and this year another one  joined their ranks.
I'm talking about an led, lighted picture.... see post photo ... they come in all shapes and sizes, it is a block picture on  a sort of canvas, and it's got little led lights enclosed in the frame, so that when you turn it on certain parts of the picture glow... or flicker like candle light.
They're  great... you can get all sorts of designs for your home... I got a christmassy one... which I love... I saw two others that I really liked... both of them snow scenes... one of a robin sat on a wooden post and the other of some deer in a forest covered in snow...  sadly though.. When I turned them on... I felt the 'glow' effect was not quite what I expected... and I was disappointed so did not buy one... but then,  I found some more in another shop, and bought one of a wintery snow covered village scene ...
I also had a go at making a couple myself... I found how to videos on you tube and got a couple of other ideas for next year too.. They were quite easy to do... and I was very pleased with the results...
lol there are several different designs using a block canvas or a light box or an ordinary picture frame..., and most of the things you need,  you can get from dollar stores or walmart and diy craft shops...
click on the link below for a quick how to make your own led christmas picture...

it was fun ... give it a try...
the post photo is not my work but some images I found on google from people who have made the lighted pictures..

@sueznewz2 They look very nice, especially in the evening where there is no sunlight coming in.

We tend to take our decorations down earlier and I believe that is because we put them up in late November or very early December. I have so many decorations that mean a lot to me. Most of the ones that our son made for me while he was younger are my favorites.

My daughter and I took our decorations down yesterday, and my son came today and sawed the tree up so that it would fit in the compost bin. We had a real tree for the first time in years and now there are pine needles everywhere.
I'm afraid I'm nit a do-it-yourselfer, so I won't be having a go at making my own led picture.

I love the idea and I will look for one for next year. My decorations came down yesterday too I just unplugged the tree on the sun porch to keep it dark but its way too cold to go out there and take it apart...

Bbbrrrrr I hope it gets a bit warmer for you... the lighted picture was a nice addition to the decorations ... and very reasonably priced too...
