The Crazies Were Out Earlier

Earlier my sister and I went out shopping, and if I didn't know any better I would think it was a full moon or something, because the crazies were crawling all over today. First there were bums loitering around everywhere, even though it was rainy and you would think homeless people would be more concerned about finding shelter, not panhandling out in the rain. So I doubt any of them were actually homeless. Especially with them being so far in town -- usually the homeless population sticks to the downtown area, because it's close to where they camp. The stores they were planted in front of today usually don't have a problem with beggars loitering in front of them, but today they were sprawled out all over, making it hard to walk on the sidewalk in front of the store without running into them.
Then while we were browsing through the thrift store, some crazy guy (who I think was on drugs) was screaming like a lunatic out in the parking lot. It scared a bunch of us in the store, and became even scarier when the guy wandered into the store and obviously couldn't make head or tails of anything. He claimed someone was bothering him, but when the cashier asked if they were still outside, he said they left, but he "didn't know." I only heard HIM screaming, and didn't see anyone else, so I wonder if he imagined them.
Luckily he wandered back out without causing any problems for anyone, but for a bit there I was scared, not knowing if he was armed or not. You just never know anymore.
It was getting dark when my sister and I walked over to the grocery store, and by then it was raining pretty hard, so we both ended up soaked. Luckily no one tried to run over us this time. However, everyone and their mother was crammed inside the grocery store, and people were being their typical, idiot selves. One family kept cramming themselves in front of me and blocking my path, and then a couple of Mexican guys were blocking an aisle as they stood around chit-chatting in Spanish. They wouldn't even move for me to get through or so I could grab the item I needed off the shelf. Anyway, I ended up pretty annoyed and was glad to get out of there and go home so I could change into my jammies and not be around people.
You ever have one of those days where you come home and declare "I hate people!"? Yeah, it was one of those days!

Some of those beggars make more than the rest of us. I never give money to panhandlers anymore.

@LadyDuck It is probably better that way. Anytime I go out, I usually come home in a bad mood.

Well, at least we know we're not alone in feeling this way.

I love people. There are days that I come home with a much bigger list of those I should pray for though.

Holy wow. I would've given up on people for sure if that was me. I say I hate people every single day
. There's only maybe 20 people I don't get annoyed with.

Ditto! There are a small number of people that I tolerate.

I don't blame you for being stressed out after a day/evening like that! Too much craziness and rudeness in a short time span.

It's becoming a regular occurrence when going anywhere, I've noticed. People are just awful anymore.

@Srbageldog I agree that many of them are. But when I go out in public and someone holds a door open for me, or I see people smiling and being kind to each other, etc, it makes my day! I appreciate those types of things even more now because they seem rare.

@BloggerDi I agree! I always appreciate people who are kind. I always try to be polite and courteous to others... Unless they are obviously being rude or awful, then I just stay away from them.
