I'm so amazed at some of the new reports coming out concerning the United States President's active hours in the "work week". He gets an average of 5 hours of "work time" and a lunch hour???
That is so neat that he gets a lunch break for that short amount of hours. Most places I know of, who work 5 hours only gets a 10 or 15 minute break (if lucky!). Lunch hours only happened once a person worked more than 6 hours and it was only a 30 minute meal break.
I know the laws for work hours and breaks differ from state to state and country. What are they like where you live? If a person worked 5 hours, would they be entitled to any breaks? if so, what kind?

Only 5 hours? I always had the impression that they were working all the time. Here it is 8 hrs of work, 1 hr for lunch and two 10 min breaks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

I have no idea about what happens here in Latvia but I would think that if you worked only 5 hours you would get no lunch break.

@Daelii ......He is in his seventies I think. You just never know. Obama was dedicated. I think Trump is mostly out for himself.

lol me too
I still have my personal doubts on if hes acting president or if someone else is.
I admired Obama's long work days doing things. I dont think the job is easy by any means regardless of what political candidate is in office.
I'm just surprised 5 hours equals a lunch break. does any state offer an hour meal break for those short hours?

@celticeagle I question who he serves. He doesn't even know us land/ territories....
He just seems like a mindless puppet someone else controls. People who are qualified to study language and mental skills have shown his speech abilities have decreased with age.
He speaks at a 4th grade level.

Considering the source of this is some off brand news agency I've never heard of. I'm not going to putt any merit in it. Considering also that he is on call at all times of the day and night should any emergency arise needing his attention, I think on days when there isn't much executive business, he should be free to do as he pleases. His job is a hard one and not one I would want.

i used that source since it clearly stated a few examples of his "days" without flipping through little spinets on multiple pages. the base facts and content can be verified on cnn and other country media outlets. even his team admits to the validity to executive time being tv and twitter and hanging out.

Gee, who wouldn't love a 5 hour work day with an hour for lunch and over 100 vacation days a year at somebody else's expense? Unfortunately, there's the world occupied by Donald Trump and family and there's the world the rest of us are stuck in...

In california you cant go past 5 hours without a lunch break if scheduled for more than 5 hours of work in the day. Law says you have to be given a minimum od 30 minutes for lunch, unpaid. Its up to the employer if you get an hour for lunch.
