Will the whitewashing controversy harm the sales of the Aladdin movie?

I have to give it to the Disney studios for making news that tick off people over racial issues.
The latest controversies is that in the live action movie that is currently in production is the addition of a character named Prince Anders who will be acted by Billy Masgussen who is Caucasian.
Prince Anders was not in the animated movie of the same name when it came out in 1992.
The second complaint is that the extras in the movies have been asked to have their skins tanned to look like Middle Eastern characters in the movie which is being referred to as "Brownface" by the critics of the movie.
It appears that the promises of the Hollywood studios to add more minority characters appears to be lip service instead of being true to their claims of having a diverse cast.
I look at this way. If "Aladdin" the movie is close to the cartoon version, the film will be a hit when it released in theaters in 2019.

I enjoyed the original movie. Too bad the controversy has to take place.

It is a shame that some people are party crashers of Disney.

@celticeagle The Aladdin cartoon was good. I am only hoping the remake is just as good and even better than the original.

I do not blame you. I would not support cop haters like Beyonce and Will Smith as well as their ilk.

i was reading an article that stated "they couldn't find enough middle eastern extras" and that was why they were tanning people..sounds more to me like they didn't try hard enough.

Aladdin is a good animation movie we watched the original one. Kids love to watch animated movies. Crashing a party is not good really.
