This isn't a movie that will have mass appeal but if you are a fan of slasher flicks, gore and 'cat and mouse' movies then this is worth checking out. Oddly enough the cast is oddly balanced with handful of recognizable names like Timothy Hutton, Chloe Sevigny and Balthazar Getty. The plot is easy to follow but complex in as much as you get some strong hints about who is behind the murders and torture but there's enough tease to scenes that you start to second guess yourself about half way through. Most of the reviews of this pegs the girls in the pre-teen age range; they are roughly twelve but that's a “modern” twelve – not the same as when I was twelve. These girls are drinking, doing drugs, having sex and playing a very dangerous social media game that has dire consequences. How far are you willing to go to get new followers and subscribers? This movie answers the question and then some. Shot in less than a month, #HORROR shows the new face of bullying and updates it with cyberbullying. Through a series of events that seem random at first, the girls are left alone to do what they want. It's hard to feel sorry for any of them because at one point or another they are all guilty of body shaming, bullying or going to extreme lengths to embarrass one of the other girls. The intermittent shock and awe of the social media updates is a little grandiose but it falls in line with the other bloody bits that unfold outside the prying eyes of the social media mass murderer. I love horror but not so much slasher movies. The last movie I saw Balthazar Getty in was Feast.

I would be interested in seeing this as Chloe Sevigny is in it.
