Pristine, pretty, pure periwinkles

Periwinkles come in different colours and they are pretty too. I have a few but they will always have more than one shade in the flower - atleast there will be a dot in the middle of a different colour. But this as you will see is pure white not something one sees often.
There is a fear that this may suddenly vanish and come back with a dot in the middle. I am not sure how I can keep it pure. It is the result of cross pollination.
Do you have periwinkles in your garden. They are very easy to grow. They do not need much attention.

@allknowing I've seen them often but didn't actually know their name.

There is no guarantee as because of the bees and butterflies there is always cross pollination

I have not seen any with black centres but I think mostly they are red.

We used to have lots of these on our school grounds. If I'm not mistaken, these were the flowers we used to pluck the petals muttering "he loves me, he loves me not".
Such nature bullies we were.

The pink periwinkles normally have red centres but there are as many as 9 colours. There is a blue too and I am wanting to own that.

They are easy to grow and spread on their own.

@allknowing that is great. I would love to plant periwinkles in my tropical garden when I am there this year.

So now I know they are called periwinkles. I used to have white periwinkles and they are beautiful but now they are gone. I'm bored with pink periwinkles they look so ordinary. Thanks for sharing this plant
