the irony of it all

So someone asked me why I got no info on my boot and not much help at the hospital. All I can figure is because they was so busy in emergency that day because the other hospital was full and sending people over. I don't know why there seemed to be an epidemic or something. when they wheeled me to the bathroom, people were taking turns passing in the hallways. and lots were on beds in the hallway. including me. maybe the flu? the weather has been so crazy. The real irony of it is that just a couple days before, I was complaining about the sun going in and out every hour all day to where I kept having to jump up and turn on my light and turn it off again all day for a while there. Wish I had never complained, as now I just wish I was able to get up off the bed every few minutes hope it taught me something. I know one thing, if I ever won the lottery, I wouldn't get to spend it. Like in the song, I would likely die the next day. I wish I could just enjoy things instead of looking out for something to happen to them. Just before I broke my foot, I was so bragging about how nice things were going and were looking up for us here. Guess the devil was listening and now to top it off I gotta learn a new phone.

@LadyDuck yes. I can total feel the same. lots of times I come home and worry about if I will soon have something else show up because of a visit to get well. I just wonder why doctors no longer come to your house. but then I am sure some would start doing bad things to mess up that privelidge also for everyone

@bunnybon7 I am worried to go to see my doctor, because I fear to get contaminated by the other patients.

I know our hospitals here are overwhelmed from the flu epidemic that is hitting the country hard, so I'm wondering if that is the situation that was going on at your hospital as well? I hope that you finally got the information you were looking for on that boot. Look at the bright side, when you are wearing the boot you will definitely be able to kick some major a&& with that thing!

i barely have strength to move the boot. which is why i wish they could have put something smaller. i think they were too overwhelmed and the guy that brought it and fitted it didn't know much about it either. he seemed to have trouble figuring it out

Here I know the hospitals are full of people with the flu! I remember when my daughter broke her collar bone, at that time there was a big flu break out too and we were waiting to get into emergency for a LONG time. How long do you have to be in that boot? Hopefully you'll heal up faster than what they tell you!

@much2say that was pretty much what happened. i think daughter got some papers on what to do next but i keep forgetting to get them from her when she isn't at work. most time she is home and helping me with care, i forget, then she needs rest of course in her room. her fiance helps some but he is not that "bright" at times as he has his own problems. lol

@bunnybon7 Oh my goodness! They literally shoved that boot on you and said here ya go and out you went? With a broken foot, I would think you'd need to go back for follow up appointments to make sure it's healing the way it's supposed to . . . have a list of questions ready because sometimes they might assume that you already know. Get better soon!!

That is not good what happened. I guess we have to learn not to wish for things when they may come true and bite us. Take care and how is your foot now?

@bunnybon7 bonnie, I am sorry because that is sad that they cannot figure out why you are exhausted. I am finishing up something and will mail it and I can sleep for a week but I will settle for tomorrow and next Thursday to sleep longer.

When you learn more about that phone, you would not feel so overwhelmed by it.There ought to be some follow up visits to the hospital. Also,it is not clear whether you fainted because of the fall or you fell down when you fainted. If so they should check your Blood Pressure etc.A talk with your doctor is a must.Hope you discuss it with your daughter.

It really is pretty bad with the flu epidemic and honestly, you should not have been exposed to all those sick people, I hope you had a flu shot.

The devil wasn't listening. My granddaughter wore a boot when she broke her heel. I'm sure it's the flu. It seems to be everywhere.

could be but i was just thinking how sometimes it seems like if some people are happy the devil seems to attack that happiness. doesn't happen to every body. just some with constant bad luck.

@bunnybon7 I hear ya. My phone is a smartphone and I turned everything off on it because it was eating data I wasn't personally using. It still does, but not at the rate it was. DE told me how to stop the data from disappearing, and I'm so grateful to him for his advice. Now, I just use it for talk and text. My landline, connected to my Internet package is the phone I use all the time.
