Wow. It was 57 today. It felt great after the extended time we’ve spent in the deep freeze here. It sounds a little weird to not have my faucets running to prevent the pipes from bursting. I can get used to that, though. And speaking of sounds, here’s a great sound from my record collection: another song with “wind” in the title. I’ve used this before, but it’s too good to not use again. Here it is. #6: Summer Wind - Frank Sinatra I did a countdown of my favorite pop standards and used this song. After this and “The Wayward Wind” showed up back to back @JohnRoberts suggested a “wind” countdown. Poor ol’ Gogi Grant didn’t make the final cut here, but the Chairman of the Board certainly did. I mentioned when I previously used this song that the famous session musicians known as “The Wrecking Crew” backed Sinatra on this album. The members who played on this album (and this song) included Glen Campbell on guitar and Leon Russell on keyboards. And, y’know, if Frank had possessed just a little less hatred of rock and roll, he probably could have done a spectacular job on Russell’s song “A Song for You.” But we’ll never know. Instead we’re left with all the music — good and bad — that Ol’ Blue Eyes gave us over the decades. This one is my favorite, hands down. Summer Wind Written by Heinz Meier, Hans Bradtke, and Johnny Mercer Recorded by Frank Sinatra From Strangers in the Night, 1966 The world was new beneath a blue umbrella sky:

Wasn’t he a little old....oh, skip it. I agree. One of his absolute best classics, and that’s saying something considering how many classics he had!

@FourWalls My neighbor across the street gets drunk in the summer and starts playing Frank Sinatra at like 10 in the morning. It is great!

A mellow wistful song. One of his best.

Frank what a talent. The good classical actors, dancers, and musicians are gone but there's the ability to continue to enjoy the music.
