Fear of Using Credit Cards When Buying Online

Do you always use credit cards when making online purchases? I don't. The reason? I fear of being scammed when I give details of my account online. It is good to be safe than sorry. Even if I really wanted to buy an item being peddled online, I don't buy it. Good thing there are online sellers who allow cash-on-delivery (COD). So they send text messages when the delivery would be made. Sometimes I just drop by the courier office to get the goods I ordered. Do you always shop online?

BPI gives an extension card to the main credit card which is called E-Credit which has a different number from the main card and which can only be used for online purchases or payments. You have the choice of setting the amount of credit limit you want to assign to theE-Credit card which is lower than your main card's credit limit. In this way, your exposure to risk is only limited to the amount you have set for you extension card and will not compromise the main card.

I can understand your concern. However, no matter what do we have to be cautious with what we purchase and such.

The reason I rarely buy online; it is better to see the items beforehand before buying it. If you have more time to do it.

@acelawrites That's true. We can look at the item and see it in person.

It's hard to find a credit card here although some people use the virtual ones. We have debit cards. I use my debit card to buy airtime for my phone.

It's better to be cautious now before you deeply regret it. The only time I made a payment was with some one that delivered the item that I was interested to.

It would be very hard to shop online if I didn't use a card. I have been hacked on just about every site I use.. My bank account twice, PayPal, Facebook, Instagram, eBay etc.

Just be careful. Yes, sometimes we can not do away with it when there's no option.
