So I posted I got this new welfare mom living next door. She then tells me she home schools her kids all 4 of them. First of all the lady talks with like 2nd grade english.. and then Ive watched those kids all week go in and out of the house from 8 to 8pm at night. never inside more than say 20 minutes. There isnt any home schooling going on in that house. How does she get away with that? Kids need an education. Especially with a mom like that one. Just my opinion..

Eventually the truth comes out. =) If it doesn't personally affect my life I just pray for people and worry about what I need to improve on in my life, since I am far from perfection.

@MALUSE We do but also most parents WANT to see their children succeed! Who would want a child(ren) who could not function in the world by getting a paying job someday? What parent would want a child who cannot function someday and FOREVER has to live with them?!? I LOVE having my kids home with me but eventually I do want them to be able to live on their own and have a good life.

@MALUSE it varies by state. There are no official state exams for homeschooled kids in New Jersey. You can teach the Bible all day long for history and science and no one could tell you that was wrong.

@kayshope I was homeschooled. I'm happy to say that my mom took it seriously. I always wondered how I stacked up compared to the public school kids - and then I went to college. (Regular state-run college) and (not to be a braggart) but my grades were A and B s. Though I do agree we knew other homeschoolers who really slacked off....

You`re right about that I hope there`s a way to help those kids of hers back to school where they can learn things that they need to survive when they grow up

@kayshope Is there no way to report that from your government there to put some good actions?

doesn't sound like they're being homeschooled, which isn't good for them to not be if they aren't in regular school.. but not my life and not my business.

I don’t think any parents are qualified to homeschool their kids after elementary school. Even at that age, many can’t/don’t do it properly.
