Screeching Roof Sound!

Philippines
January 26, 2018 3:13am CST
Last I was able to read a post and learned that one of our mylotters here actually got robbed last year. I was horrified by it because while I was reading her post I heard something on the roof. I got scared for that moment but they could be just Cats chasing each other again. But that didn't set my paranoia to max which cause me to sleep late again Anyways, We should always be cautious of our home. It's not safe now a days you never know if someone's going to attack and rob your house. Have a nice day

Me too. Sometimes I easily awake when I heard something outside my room. Since then, I always have my door open. In case if I see someone inside our house.

@Letranknight2015 Hmm. I was thinking about it but my room doesn't have a window. So I need to have it open or else I will suffocate myself.

@JustBhem Oh, you don't have a window. Kinda reminds me of the guest room I slept on for a year with out a window. only an exhaust fan. You should have snake plants inside your room. the sansaveria ones, it helps regulate oxygen inside. they produce oxygen at night.

Our friend's house was broken into while they were away. However they have a very loud alarm which drove the robbers away before they were able to find much of value.

Hello @JudyEv Wow I wanted that huge alarm that might really sent the robbers away. Hope fully the alarm would be as loud as our door bell.

@Letranknight2015 The police said the thieves wouldn't have been able to stay in the house as the alarm was much too loud for comfort. So that's a good thing to remember if you are thinking of getting an alarm.

@Letranknight2015 I need those too as my yard is so dark and I have to take the puppy out to go the bathroom.

Hello @shaggin I should be scared because you never know what's out there in the dark. If I had money I would put motion sensors on the doors.

We lock our doors as soon as we are home. Luckily, we live on a quiet street.

Hello @DianneN But Should you lock it when ever you are out of the house? That's good to know you're locking doors.

@Letranknight2015 We always lock it when we are not home and set the alarms. We even set them when we go to sleep.

You should be able to identify cats fighting by the sounds they made. Glad it was nothing much though.By the way, being awake doesn't scare off a determined robber. So you need to have a plan A and Plan B

Hello @Gita17112016 I would often hear running around on the roof, either rats or cats. But with rats I rarely hear it on the ceiling. Being awake allows me to defend my home, and show that robber that I won't allow any one intimidate by these people.

@Gita17112016 Well, we don't look rich because we don't have a car. One of these days I might fortify our home one of these days.

@Letranknight2015 You haven't been robbed, my friend, that why you say that. When people have cased your house, studied you habits and have an escape route and get away car and have information of things even you didn't remember, there is no such thing as 'allowing' but rather 'surviving' the ordeal. If you house is sealed off, why are you hearing noise there? Maybe you should check for an opening there?
