I Had Forgotten How Funny Donald Duck Is

Last night, some time after midnight, I happened in a roundabout way, to stumble on this discussion by @Corbin5 It lead me to YouTube where I rediscovered Donald Duck.
There was a short clip with no sound in the linked to in the discussion itself. But after it played a longer clip on Self Control followed. It was about 1 am and my husband was trying to sleep in the next room, so I kept the sound low. The volume on my laughter was harder to control. It did wake my husband up, or maybe it was his bladder, since I heard him in the bathroom.
It's not that the plots are so funny in these cartoons. It's the art and animation. Donald's facial expressions were hilarious, and I loved the duck talk. It's no wonder Walt Disney got rich and famous. He created characters just about anyone can relate to.
Donald Duck behaves the way most people feel like behaving under certain circumstances but don't because they control themselves and do what society expects. We can related to him because he does what we might like to do if conscience and the law did not restrain us. So we laugh at Donald as we vicariously cheer him on. He's not the least bit worried about political correctness or any other kind.
So after laughing so hard last night, I determined I would watch a bit of Donald Duck with my breakfast or morning tea from now on. It's good to start the day with a laugh. This morning I chose this cartoon. I've seen my husband roll his eyes and put on that same innocent demeanor Donald displays to the courtroom. I saw it in his father before him. https://youtu.be/JBEZeteD6pk (I'm trying to edit so that this link is live, but I'm not sure how to do it. I guess the link to the discussion preempted it. The link here works if you paste it into your browser)
Do you like to start your day with some humor? Can you relate to Donald Duck? Which Disney character do you like best? What is your favorite old time cartoon? Or are you old enough to remember when cartoons were part of going to the movies, right along with the newsreel that we no longer need because TV shows us even more than those short newsreels did.
Mickey Mouse really is a sweet little fellow. Mickey's gentle nature makes him a good role model for kids, but Mickey's niceness did not prevent him from...

i've always like donald over mickey, just as i've always likes daffy duck over bugs bunny. they're funnier. they're allowed to do things the hero can't.

@m_audrey6788 I think "childlike" fits better. It means retaining some of the good characteristics of childhood without the negative connotations that "childish" implies.

I first watched the cartoon"Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck" on TV about 20 years ago.I can't remember its plots well, only remember we laughed from beginning to end.I thought at the moment that it brought a breath of fresh air to cartoons.

@bagarad I remember "Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck" was popular and became the talk of the town at the moment, especially kids'eyes were all glued to it as night began to fall.I have not known of the Francis the Talking Mule movie.

@changjiangzhibin89 I believe Francis was a US Army mule that could talk, but only in front of one soldier. Of course, people would catch him talking to Frances and think he was crazy but by the end Frances usually talked in front of the people who were harassing his friend he talked to. It wasn't a cartoon. All characters were live humans or animals. The Francis movies were funny, but they sort of disappeared a few years after WW2 was over.
