This is not the first issue the school had with this seven year old who likes to throw punches and has a temper. What is the school to do with a violent child?
The door to the principal’s office opened suddenly. Mercy Álvarez turned and watched a Miami-Dade Schools Police officer enter to take her 7-year-old son into custody. Pain pierced her heart when her son was handcuffed. “Do not worry, my love,” she muttere

I think it's too much to handcuff a child, especially if his just 7 years who just started in school.Maybe all he need is a guidance counselor. It's not even necessary to involve police officers unless he's bringing a weapon.A child can throw tantrums but there's a proper way to do it.They should have called the parents before doing any legal actions.

@MsBooklover Maybe he has problems at home that makes him violent,or his parents lack disciplinary action. Some children are just influenced by what they saw.Even some cartoons, can inflict violence in children. You should supervise what the children are watching from television, internet or even video games.

I question a lot of this. It reads like a cheap novel, not a report. Are you sure it's real? "Pain pierced her heart" sounds a little melodramatic to me.

This way of handling him will only make him more violent in future. He should face consequences of course but not like that

What do you suggest if he continues to do this over and over?

I think it is good to take the violent kid away in hand cuffs just like adults. I have no sympathy for a violent kid like that.

I don't think people should have to put up with repeated episodes.
