Ronene Ando who is the owner of a pit bull named Ruby is thankful that her pit bull who normally barks when a stranger at the front door was barking many times to warn Ronene and her husband that their lives were in danger. The incident happened in Lakeview New York on Thursday. Ronene decided to go the basement when they found a propane heater that they had purchased recently that smelled like the odor of propane. Ronene said that Ruby was able to get their attention to warn them that if they did not take action to do something about the smell of propane could have been fatal due to carbon monoxide poisoning in their home. It goes to show people that Pit Bull dogs are really friendly and not the monsters that are portrayed in the news media.

I've heard of this happening before. Thank goodness these animals know. A dog is only as good as the person who trains/owns them.

I remember seeing a cover of a magazine that said "Dogs are not all bad." Dogs respond to love from their owners.

That is true since if you give love to a pet, they will love you back.

That is true since the negative images of Pit Bulls will be taken down a notch after this story makes it to the national level.

I must admit, I still would not like a pit bull, but it is good this one was able to save its owners. Like someone else said, a dog is only as good as the person who trains it, and most of the time people do not know how to properly handle such animals. I do not think you are allowed to own one here in the UK.

There are some states and or cities that ban pit bulls to be owned by families but I could be wrong.

@Deepizzaguy I know, it makes me angry every time I hear one of them as all dogs in most breeds can be vicious. It is all in the owner and how the dog is raised.

Glad to know that since the media has a field day reporting how evil Pit Bulls are.

I am not a fan of Pit Bulls but at least Ruby can be called a hero for saving the lives of his owners.

That is so wonderful he alerted them this way. My parents bred two litters of puppies when I was young. One that was sold wound up saving her owners from a house fire but then a few years later the dog was killed in the road
