Our daughter did superbly well in her ICSE Board Examinations and was selected for a West Bengal Government Prize. She should have received the prize from the Honorable Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee herself in a felicitation function but unfortunately, we got the information quite late. Anyway, Sub-Divisonal Welfare Office at the District Headquarters informed her School two days ago that the prize was waiting for her in the office. Yesterday, she went to the District Headquarters, 30 KM far from our place to claim it. After some formalities, she was handed over the prize. It was a certificate of appreciation with a cheque of Rs.5000.00. It's not a huge amount but that she was awarded by the State Government for her success is something to make her parents, her teachers, her school and our organization proud of her. Isn't it a happy thing when our children win prizes? They bring prizes from school for doing well in studies, from sports fields, for artistic expressions like dancing, singing, painting. Prizes encourage them to do still better and inspire others to emulate them.

Yes, it is a happy occasion. Tell her 'well done and congrats' from me. It is great to see parents supporting their kids and kids excelling under their parents protection. Pity you found out so late. Anyway I am glad you are making a fuss over your child (let her see how proud you are ) and I am sure this will be a great memory in her life. She will always remember how much it meant to you too. That's a powerful incentive to go on achieving great things in life...and i hope you always respond like this.
