Sleep deprivation is not a good thing. The body needs rest in order to function well. For some days now, I have not been sleeping well. Let me say, for a week now. I go to bed at around 11pm and find that I wake up at 2am, deep in the night. Sleep has completely vanished. To make time fly, I log onto mylot and check my notifications. I try my best to go back to sleep but unsuccessfully. Is this insomnia or something else? It is not a good trend. I am not happy about it. I am afraid it might lead to something else, maybe my falling sick. Can anyone explain what is happening and how I can regain my ability to sleep? Photo credit: pixabay.com

I have had such experience and I can tell you it’s not good. You can always take a warm bath before going to sleep and try to sleep a bit late.

Since I started interacting on mylot again, I have been sleeping by 11pm. That's late as anyone can get.

I often have trouble going to sleep or staying asleep. Not much seems to help, but getting on line probably isn't a good idea. The bright screen and entertainment can wake you more. Best wishes, I know how you feel and it's miserable.

It's miserable. A healthy person should get at least 7 hours of sleep everyday. I am doing only 3. I am really concerned.

@1creekgirl Is it that serious that I should talk to a doctor? It is just a new development. I am watching it. If it continues, I will surely talk to my doctor.

I think I eat late. At around 10pm. Could that be contributing to it? Don't smoke, doesn't drink.

I have experience it yet again for two days straight now. But I couldn't stop myself from surfing the net or watching some news.

I think it's unhealthy for me that is why I asked about it on mylot. Do you enjoy not getting enough sleep at all?

I do not know if this is insomnia but I have exactly the same problem. I go to bed around 10:30 PM, I read for about half an hour, but I wake up in the middle of the night (usually 3:00 am) unable to get back to sleep.

In insomnia you never get sleep at all not even for a hour. If you get sleep for an hour then there should be some other problem.

Is that so? I sleep for three hours. Today, I went out but was uncomfortable. I found myself sleeping while holding a discussion with someone. It is making me miserable.

I think that is insomnia indeed. I also have problem sleeping early like at 10:00 because I wake up at 5:00 to prepare for work. I get to sleep at 11:00 or past that, so I always lack sleep and feel sleepy at work. When you awaken, it is said not to get your gadgets because their lights will make you more awake. What you should do is read a book. That can make you sleepy again.

Do not drink any caffeine at night before you go to bed and get some exercise.
