Who knows of SSS sickness benefits here?

For Philippine Mylotters only.
I have read information in the SSS (Social Security System) website that sickness benefit in the said company can be redeemed within one year but there is also a statement there that filing of sickness benefit should be within 5 days after discharge from the hospital. 'm confused. I'm not sure if my understanding is correct or not so please enlighten me for those who knows.
I'm not sure if posting a discussion for specific people is prohibited or not. I'll check the FAQS later after editing this. But I'm asking for help here and not just simply chatting to an acquaintance in the site.

when i was operated on last 2004, i submitted the clinical abstract, and documents filled up by my doctors. when i was confined in 2010 and last 2016, i submitted a form from them, and i received some amount in cheque. my sickness benefits are not much, but they gave it to me.

@renicemae actually, it was 2 months after i filed at SSS. i think it should be filed within a year after the date of confinement.

@ridingbet I see. the date of filing is what confuses me. I'm doubtful whether filing date is 5 days or within a year after the date of confinement.
how much is the monetary benefit? will SSS pay all the expense in the hospital?

@miketagz Thank you for this link. I have read it and still not sure of the statement but I think I'm still eligible to apply for the sickness benefit of my father but I have to verify it to the nearest office first.

@renicemae About 18 years ago,I had my TAHBSO c/o of my hralth card. Then after a month , i was informed that I can file it at SSS For partial disability since they took out all my reproductive organs at 38 yr old.
To cut it short I was given a lump sum of more than 50k then after 3.months a 3000 monthly pension for i think 3 years.
But what i know of the sickness notificatio we have at the office is what you have first stated.
