I just found out that in 1918 there was a really strong virus that kill like fifty million people around the world. I haven't made a really good research on it but it's very interesting. Do you think it can happen again? Could it be related to today's? influenza?

Yes, in 1918 there was the worst influenza the world ever knew it was called Spanish Flu, it killed 50–100 million people worldwide. Of course it could happen again.

@Maria24 We are all afraid, but there is nothing we can do to prevent this.

Yes. I recently read an article about it.It can happen as a result of melting permafrost.Permafrost is the soil underneath the ice which is a good reservoir of viruses and bacteria. As the temperature rises, the ice can melt, and permafrost can release the infectious agents which has been stored centuries ago.It could happen very soon like a ticking bomb. Here a link if you want to learn about it
Long-dormant bacteria and viruses, trapped in ice and permafrost for centuries, are reviving as Earth's climate warms

I think it was probably something similar. They say basic things like handwashing can prevent a lot of germs, but a lot of people didn't have access to clean water.
