Hello People is Docdrl here again For quite some time I have been on myLot and i noticed that it only has one method of payment, which is via Paypal... Let me tell you about Nigeria. As a Nigerian, you can open a Paypal account and link it with your local bank account. Paypal has decided that Nigerians cannot receive money via Paypal they can only make payment with Paypal.... This is very uncomfortable for a person like me, but offcourse you would love to know why it is so... Many Nigerians over the years have doped people all over the world. I have read a lot about it... To the Victims, it is NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE, AND HAS LEFT MANY WITH SCARS FOR THAT AM SORRY... To some of us from Nigerians who would love to do what is right we should be giving the opportunity to do so... myLot should consider adding another method of payment other than Paypal so when someone like me has reached the threshold should be paid via WIRE TRANSFER, I will love to give my bank details in this type of payment than Using Paypal where I cannot receive my money in Nigeria... If you feel the please lets read your views about it

Realistically, you are asking myLot to take on an additional burden/cost to satisfy you. When you joined myLot, you checked that you read and understand the terms, and one of those is that payment is only through PayPal. At that point you should have realized myLot could not pay you. I'm sorry you can't be paid, but you can't logically expect myLot to incur the costs involved to pay in a different way when you knew from the start you were not eligible to get paid.

@JJ, this is my plight.... The money can remain here and when Nigerians starts receiving payment, I can also ask for withdrawal, but then what if it is a country where the person(s) can't just receive payment via Paypal, whats should such a person do? Patience is a virtue I think I have and it has worked for me countless times.... thanks for been Honest though!

@Docdrl For the first three years myLot was around (early 2006 through the end of 2008) they tried alternate payment programs such as iKobo, e-gold, and moneybookers. Beginning in 2009, they decided to drop all payment processors except PayPal. There has to be a logical reason (for them) to drop all other ways of getting paid and only pay through PayPal for the past 9 years. They have never offered it via a check or a wire transfer in the past 12 years...I don't know if they consider it cost-prohibitive or what. The Terms page says: *Only users with a valid Paypal account and residing in an eligible country per OFAC have the right to receive any accumulated myLot Earnings *For clarity, any user who resides in a country where Paypal does not operate or whose country is on the OFAC list is not eligible to receive any accumulated myLot Earnings (OFAC is the Office of Foreign Assets Control, which forbids certain countries from receiving any money the USA) You're more than welcome to be here and join everyone in discussions, and you will continue to earn, and if PayPal ever changes policy in your country, you'll be able to receive everything you earned here since you first started. Perhaps people in Nigeria need to band together and approach PayPal to try and have their restrictions against those accounts lifted.

I think you should provide this feedback to PayPal since they decided not to pay you instead of myLot. PayPal is the most widely used and accepted method of payment. Alot of other payment methods have more restrictions and are not available to as many countries and PayPal is. But I think expressing this to them may open their minds on offering more options for you :)

Not sure if this is against the rules (I don't actually think it is) but why not get a trusted friend who has a full paypal account and lives outside Nigeria to let you use their paypal email and then they get paid and pay you through another method. @JolietJake will know more about if this is against the rules.

@JolietJake That's what I thought...pretty sure I asked admin a few years ago. As far as I know there is no rule that says we have to use OUR OWN paypal we just need to use a valid address with no restrictions. He just needs to find a trusted 3rd party to receive payment and pass it on.
