When things on the news takes over your dreams....

I don't have the best record for having peaceful dreams. It's a constant battle in my head even when I am sleeping. Zombies, monsters, people chasing me, shooting me, my ex trying to kill me, being lost, being late for an exam, huge tsunamis...It's very rare I have a good dream for the whole length of my dream time.
But ever since Orange face and Turd face started having their "my d*ck is bigger than yours" fight, I have been having so many dreams of wars or missiles heading our way.
I know that dreams are pretty much based on what we do, think or things we shove in our sub-conscious but man....I hate those dreams because it's based on real life worries.
Does or has anything from the news / media ever been into your dreams?

It's better not to think of it much. Though some say it comes in the dream if you think of it before you sleep. I had some bad dreams after watching some bad news.

@Letranknight2015 I don't even think of it. What I am saying is, how things we see and hear get shoved into our sub-conscious and we dream about it. But yes you are exactly right some things we think about are bound to be dreamed about.

@Daljinder That's right! Can be quite scary when things from the subconscious mind starts popping out of nowhere.

@VivaLaDani13 That's how subconsciousness deal with it. It is your brain's way of processing the stuff good or bad. Sometimes you don't even know that something has affected you negatively yet subconsciously you are aware. Like people find as adults that an incident in their childhood that they considered not that significant had left them with scars. They only discovered it by digging deep in therapy and were themselve surprised finding that.

Surely the two you mentioned are giving people nightmares. What I hear from the news or media do not affect my dreams. I have my series of weird dreams and some show what will happen in real life in the near future. This is why I am always pretty scared when I have bad dreams.

@VivaLaDani13 I would also like to know how that works exactly. Why some dreams are only dreams and why others are a view toward the future.

@LadyDuck I know what you mean. I've had some pretty weird dreams too that totally spun me out when it or something similar comes all over the news. I wonder why that happens. I know people can be in-tune with stuff like that but I wish I could understand how that works exactly.

A few times yes and that is just why I don´t hear the news just before going to sleep.
I don´t like watching anything that has violence in either if I can help it.

@lovinangelsinstead21 It's a good idea! So much negativity on the news as of late anyway.

Yes it does give me nightmares but I try to tune it out - turn off the news from time to time

@VivaLaDani13 I used to dream in black and white. I'm not sure the reason for that.

@just4him Don't blame you for not watching the news!
It's actually quite common for people not to remember their dreams. Not sure if it's true but I've heard that some people dream in black and white. I wonder why.

@just4him I have never read or heard anyone say that before. Black and white ? Really? I have the opposite. My dreams are quiet vivid. Too real at times and other times like watching a 3D movie as a third person.

I think the news frightens everyone. I don't dream about it but it makes me mindful that things have really changed. Thoughts of road rage scares me. People shoot and kill.

@popciclecold Yeah road rage is still a major issue. I almost feel like everyone needs anger management classes before driving on the road.

@popciclecold I don't blame you for being alarmed. But apparently South Africa is like that. My neighbour is from South Africa and he explained that if you're siting at a traffic light, there is a high chance of people killing you just to take your car....although...I guess that's not really road rage....I think that's a whole different level or stealing.

Maybe you need to snap out of it, why not try giving yourself positive suggestions before going to sleep, might work, poor sleep would affect your health

@louievill oh no no lol I'm not sitting here worried sick over it or anything! I was just saying how we see things during the day and we dream about it at night. I'm not stressing over it or anything.
I already have poor health but that's got nothing to do with the news.

@Plethos I do agree with you. Like I said to someone else here, I'm not stressing over it as much as I used to because those two fight and show off what they have but it's almost like empty threats going back and forth. Nowadays I'm not that bothered in my waking life but still there in the back of my mind.

Oh God! I am horrified. Please don't tell me that you actually had the unfortunate fate to see the aforementioned anatomy of the aforementioned nincompoops while they were engaging in the aforementioned competition.

Alright I think I will stop typing "aforementioned" now. Oops! did it again

I have none of those nightmarish dreams. Just a peaceful dreamless sleep. I guess, if you think of something too much and affected both emotionally and psychologically, this may really stick in your mind and manifest in dreams.
