As I was sitting here answering notifications just now, the message came across my computer that Evangelist Billy Graham has passed. He was 99. He started his evangelism crusades in 1948 at the age of 29. Since then he has preached more than 400 crusades to 215 million people in 185 countries. He was the spiritual adviser to the White House from Dwight D. Eisenhower to the Bushes. He spoke at the prayer breakfast following the attacks on 9/11. Each crusade ended the same way, with the singing of Just as I Am, while thousands of people from every part of the stadium walked the aisles to give their lives to Jesus Christ. The Christian community is saddened today, while Heaven rejoices to receive a son home. Image is from Wikimedia Commons of Reverend Billy Graham and his son, Franklin Graham, who is also following in his father's footsteps as a powerful evangelist.

It truly is. My entire life I have looked up to him. He was one of the humblest servants I have ever watched.

@JohnRoberts I've watched many of his crusades, and one memorable one, my daughter accepted Jesus as her Savior. She was 5.

I've been listening to tributes from many Christian artists today. KLOVE is dedicated to his memory today. It's hard to think of a world without him.

He was a giant of a Christian man in so many ways. Lately he was out of the circuit and must have been poorly at such an advanced age. God has lost one of his best warriors and evangelists!

God didn't lose anyone, we did. He's home, we're still wandering the earth. He was a giant among men and will be long remembered for the work he did for God.

In 1979, I gave my heart to the Lord under Billy Graham's Evangelistic Preaching. Since that day, my life has never been the same! It was my first Christmas alone with my kids, Bruce has just left us. The sermon he preached was 'to you parents who are alone, at Chrismas time. I wept like a newborn, at the foot of Calvary's Cross!

That's awesome! You're a year older than me, though it wasn't a crusade for me that brought me to the Lord.

I couldn't help but cry when I heard of his passing, although I know heaven is having a great celebration right now. He could have had the largest mega-church in history, but his message was taken to all the world that faith and belief in Jesus Christ was more important than anything.

I had the honor of hearing him in person back on New Years Eve when I attended the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Urbana Mission conference which took place every 3 years at University of Illinois Champaigne -Urbana Illinois and he closed out the meeting in the midnight hour stirring almost 15000 plus college students to christian work. He was the final keynote speaker for many of these conferences well into the 90s and was a good way to welcome in the new year. He weill be missed

He was a true man of God. Heaven has received their son home, while we wait for our turn. I know he heard, Well done, good and faithful servant. It's awesome you had that pleasure.

Another true righteous man of God in the peaceful presence of the Almighty.

Yes, he is. You know he heard "Well done, good and faithful servant." I've noticed the Christian community is rejoicing for his promotion and homecoming. I know, I'm not even sad, a little envious, but definitely not sad.
