Time for a new and long winded trivia series on girl-themed songs. So, as I traverse through the alphabet, expect many twists and turns as I try to piece together some fun "chestnut songs" depicting the female gender. What I have noticed in putting together my list of tunes is that recording artists sure find inspiration in writing about women. I mean this series could go on for awhile, but I'm up for the challenge! Now, let's begin our first series at the beginning (if you know what I mean)? Enjoy this selection as you ponder the clues. Love this bands blend of Jazz R&B and Rock. Walter you are sorely missed! Here are your songs and artist clues. Do you know any of these selections and who recorded them? 1. The song was written for his wife in about 10 minutes while he was on a ski lift. The tune reflected the artists joy in his marriage and his relief they were together again after a separation. This folk-rock song was recorded for the artists "Back Home Again" album. This was a # 1 hit in 1974 for the Colorado based singer-songwriter. Sadly, he died in a plane crash in 1997. 2. This British new wave group released this as their last single before breaking up the first time in 1982. The song title is the same as a famous Broadway Musical which references firearms. The band performed this tune on Saturday Night Live on 20 November 1982. You might recognize this group by another single the band released with lyrics about mussels, Maid Marian and William Tell. The song was a cult classic and well received by the music critics. 3. Differing rumors about the origin of this 1973 song. One has it that it was written about David Bowie's wife at the time. Another it was written about the guitarists daughter who he conceived with his girlfriend Anita Pallenberg. This rumor was put to rest by this bandmate, although he was the one who came up with the song's title. The tune was a huge hit and their only ballad that reached #1 in the US. One of the few acoustic tracks from these hard rockin' British bad boys. Ok, there are your clues! And from the many inspired songs written by various male artists/bands it seem this one song might sum up their feelings .... "When A Man Loves A Woman" - Percy Sledge Enjoy the continuing series, visit and comment, check out my listed favorites and see if their yours too. And as always, thanks for reading my music post!!! *Bio info from Wikipedia and songfacts.com Photo- google images/pixabay

Where's my thinking cap? 1) Is the line "come let me love you" in the song and does it rhyme with Fanny's Song? 2) ? No idea. 3) ? Clueless.

@dgobucks226 I do not know group #2. I should have guessed the #3 but it din't come to mind at the time. I had heard that it was Mick Jagger's daughter or is that Ruby Tuesday? So did Keith have a daughter named Angie?

@1hopefulman Yes, Angie was Keith Richard's daughter. Looks like you had an idea on #1. It does help to have a familiarity with the bands to solve the songs. There are a couple responders to my posts who seem to know every song a band has recorded. They definitely have an advantage in deciphering the clues. Thanks again for playing and reading my post Felix
