Did it ever happen to you when you had to change the date of your ticketed flight? In my case, I had to advance the date of my return a week earlier than the scheduled one. In fact, if the airline hadn't given an additional tour of Europe as a bonus, our return date would have been one week earlier, which was the time I wanted to return. I mean I didn't take the bonus given by the airline. I knew I had missed out a lot on the additional tour but (at the time) I preferred to be back to my country earlier. In your case, if this happened to you, you would positively be charged for a change ticket?

We have had to pay several times due to changing flights. We were just happy we were able to get a new flight.

It depends which kind of ticket you bought. Changes are free for a full fear ticket, but in some conditions you have to pay a little charge to change the date. When we flew back from Santo Domingo to the United States we had to pay, because we decided at the last minute to go one week earlier.

@yanzalong Yes, during 30 years we traveled really a lot, for my husband business. We traveled through Europe, but we used to go also to the United Stated 4 to 5 times a year.

Last night while waiting in the departure area of the airport there was an announcement that passengers who will give up their seat on a certain flight will get a free round trip ticket to anywhere in the country. That wasn't my flight though.
