I am a pet person. I've had cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a tortoise and goldfish over time. At the moment I have two dogs and three guinea pigs which I adore.
Not everyone likes to keep pets, there is the problem of hair and general mess, getting them looked after if you want to go away, the expense of food and vets bills. Despite all this I love my pets and would not want to be without them.
Are you a pet person or do you prefer a hair free home and the freedom to go away when you want without having to worry about them.

I love cats and dogs, but we have no pets. We used to travel many times during a year and we disliked the idea to get them looked after by other people. The cat of my neighbor visits me every day. I open my door, he comes inside, we play for a moment, I cuddle and pet him, give him some treats and then he goes back home.

@LadyDuck Yes we don't go far because of them. Every year we go to a holiday park in the UK which accepts dogs so we can take them with us. They are not young now so I don't know if I will have any more when they go so that we can travel a bit.

@sprite1950 We used to go to the United Stated from 3 to 5 times a year (for business). Impossible to bring your pets with you.

@LadyDuck Oh yes, if you travel regularly it would be difficult unless you had family to look after them.

@mydanods My dad was not a pet person so we were never allowed them as children. Now I have my own home I can have them.

@velvet53 Yes they are nice looking dogs but they have lots of energy and need a lot of walking,

As I've mentioned @sprite1950 , I prefer critters over humans. At the moment I have 12 indoor cats, 1 outdoor cat (who adopted me) and 3 donkeys.

@nanette64 3 donkeys, how lovely. I'm not sure I could cope with 12 cats though, the most I ever had was 3. Yes there's a lot to be said for animals and their unconditional love. Not so with all humans.

I love pets too. I grew up with pets. Cats, dogs, guinea pigs and a canary. But since we live in apt. we can't have pets. I'm more of a cat person. It's alright for now for like others the cost is a worry now. You got to have pet ins., take them yearly for their shots and get them food plus toys. Cost can be too much for me now. Oh well memories will have to do and videos of kind people. I like to watch Maru and Nala the cat videos.

It's good that you have your memories. I fall to pieces when mine die which is why I have to get more. I need them in my life.

Yes i adore pets. I have a dog name lia and love birds. And they are not a problem for us. Infact they always keep us happy when we return from college or work.
