Shivering with cold I got up To greet the day Looking for the sunshine Alas the sun had gone away I saw you on my washing line Which was swaying gently in the wind Flurrying white snow falling around you You did not seem to feel the cold Beautiful red breast as bright as any other Looking straight at me and I delighted in your prescence with awe Never have been so very close to such a beautiful Robin before As usual I did not have my camera with me I had left it by the the front door Piles of snow and layer upon layer Frozen over whilst the wild wind blew Nothing spoiled that moment of me being there in the presence of you

Very nice poem. Speaking of Robins, I had about ten of them hunting for worms in my backyard Saturday and Sunday here in New Jersey (U.S.)

Its very hard to see them over this side of the road as over the other side there is a big farm and lots of trees and such like and here are small gardens. How lucky too see them all together. I would have taken a photo of them.

@dgobucks226 Right and so I am not the only one then. Like I have been trying to get a photo of this Robin for ages. Yesterday he was up on the Antenna of the Roof but I did not have my Camera and anyway it was getting dark quite quickly.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes, your right. Everytime I get my camera they all fly away. I have been trying to take a picture of a cardinal but he never sits still long enough. Oh well, I'll keep trying

Lovely ditty! I'm surprised you have snow. I usually see a robin the day we return from Florida to our home in Connecticut. Not too sure with the snowstorms they've been getting.

Thank you and the Robins live mainly in the trees across the road as there is a guy there a well known Doctor who has a very nice house and grounds to go with it and lots of trees too and so that is where they are hiding away till they get hungry of course.

@DianneN I reckon that this little Robin likes to come here but he is very timid and a shy little thing. Hence I could not get the photo of him.

The Robin only appears every so often like a Blue Moon and so it was real delight to see him there on my washing line swaying in the wind with all the snow falling around him. I got dressed and fed them all as it would be much too hard for them to find food.

@just4him If I could get across the motorway I would be able to see a few of them also but there is no way you can get across there.

A very sweet poem about a robin keeping you company during a snowy day.

Yes thank you it was a very snowy day just for that day only as it cleared quite quickly the day after. The Robin is a rare appearance around here that is why I wrote it as I found him swinging on the washing like just as you like.

No secret that I love red robins and he was there on the washing line with all the snow around him looking straight at me he was so cute and as usual I did not have my camera and there he was real close to me. Of course the moment I tried to get back in to get the camera off he went.

@FayeHazel He did do and its very hard to get him to come back you see. If it were a garden loaded with trees and bushes its much easier to get them to come back.

I didn't realize you lived somewhere that would get snow. Our home in Connecticut is buried.

Yes it can snow but mainly on the mountains really. It can snow on the ground around here but being in the South of this area its less likely to happen than say in the North.

Lovely poem. Isn't it always the case that we don't have our cameras when we need them! We're normally in Spain at this time of year, but due to my husband's health we haven't been able to come. Looks like it's just as well, all that snow.

More than snow here right now are thunder storms quite big ones. No I never have my camera with me when this cheeky chappie comes around the garden.

Your photo looks like my backyard. Lots of snow on the ground even though it has started to melt
