Just a dog

I received this comment from my family members after my dog's death. It happened 12 years back but it still hurt. I have no issues with people who don't like pets. But please dont comment on people who have pets. For me my Bushy ( golden retriever) was like kid and I still miss him.

I don't see the comment. But it's incredible how lacking in empathy some people are. Our fur friends are as important to us as our human friends. I will miss my horse until the day I die.

Some people just hate animals, maybe some of them got bitten in the past or just hate them. What is important is what you think of your dog that matters. Besides, those who commented are NOBODY and doesn't love your dog like you do.

How cruel for them to say that @neha211985 . Apparently to them Bushy was just a 'thing'.

Yesterday we talked about our dog with my mum. The dog passed away 10 years ago. I cried yesterday.

I am feeling really sorry to state that you are playing a double game here...you can't make a fellow human being as your friend just because you couldn't interact with him and now you are talking about the DOG with whom you never exchanged a word! I am also a big/ardant dog lover...but from them I learned that who are the people to trust and who are not! Do you feel that you belong to the first catagory?

I think that it was very rude of them to tell you it was just a dog when they see you hurting from your loss. We never considered our pets as just pets or just animals. They're our family and sometimes our pets can give us so much more joy than the people around us. They are even better than people sometimes. I'm so sorry for your less.

I've had many pets which have gone over the rainbow bridge and each one of them has taken a little piece of my heart, Some people don't feel the same way though and don't understand that a comment like that can be upsetting.

I understand how you feel, our pets are part of our family and give us so much love that when they gone we suffer a lot.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Surely only those who have a pet will understand as I understand you.
