A lot of older people on MyLot

One of the things I have noticed about MyLot is there are a lot of older people here which I like because I don't feel like a fish out of water as I have on some sites.
That doesn't mean to say there are no young people here too but it's nice to feel that there is a cross section of people because you don't always find that.
I'm just wondering why MyLot attracts a bigger proportion of older people than many other sites. Any ideas?

I think it's because older people are retired and have more time to spend on sites like this. Or another reason may be because they are bored in their retirement, or lonely, and myLot gives them something exciting to do.

@moffittjc I do that as well. I was here at 2 am the other night and up again at 6 am. This addiction is bad for me

This site is hreat for any age... but for those retired or disabled wanting to make a little extra money this site is good

Yes I have more time to spend online now that I am retired so it's nice to be able to interact with people of my own age. Most forums are mainly youngsters.

@marlina Yes I'm retired. It's just that most of the forums I've belonged to have been mainly young so it's noticeable here (and nice)

Well I'm quite old. It doesn't put me off if there are a lot of young people on a site but I find I have less in common with them.

@sprite1950 you are not old, you have my mother's age and i don't think my mother is old. My grandma is old, she will be 90 years old this year.

@Courage7 Probably but I'm more aware of an older age group here. On another forum I belong to there is only a handful over 50.

Because it's friendly and the site had more smart people in the past. But more trolls too. I can tell you there was more old people back in the day before it came back 3 years ago.

It could be simply that many older people are coming into retirement and have more time, and because they are not making connections say, at work, it is nice for them to spend a little time connecting on a place like this. Either way, I do enjoy quite a lot of the posts.

I was reading somewhere else that teens do not last long on this site because they would rather talk about video games etc. but there are some here.
