I way overslept with my nap this afternoon (you get nap cards with your AARP membership, so don't worry), but I still managed to get some of the junk out of the garage in time for "large trash pickup" week. Now my back is yelling "get in a tub of hot water!" Later. First, there's another year and another #1 song to present.
1984 (Pop): What's Love Got to Do With It - Tina Turner
Tina Turner is a lot of things. She's a survivor (if you know anything about her you know how she was abused at the hands of former husband Ike Turner). She's one of the absolute best vocalists out there (even though she's retired from music now). And she stole the film version of Tommy as the "Acid Queen."
This superb song from her classic album Private Dancer gave her, surprisingly, her only #1 song in the US.
There isn't a whole lot that can be said about this song except "enjoy."
What's Love Got to Do With It
Written by Terry Britten and Graham Lyle
Recorded by Tina Turner

Psst, you can get nap cards for free, don’t have to join. Just be over 50 and take the dang nap!

I didn't. I'm not into biopics that tend to embellish things for sake of getting a bigger audience. I'd rather read the book.
