Monday

Good Monday morning from this side of the globe. I sometimes dread Mondays. Monday is the first day of the week and I and my son should always observe my sister. Why? It is because she usually has the attitude of bad vibrations that carry over until Friday. “It’s Monday again” is what I often say if she is cranky and sarcastic. I try not to mind and get affected with her attitude but what will I do if she slams a door, noisily puts down things on the table, and often sighs? “Hay naku” is her favorite expression! That is a bad sigh as if the whole world is on her shoulders. Right now, she is in the kitchen slamming all the kitchen utensils there. I try not to be involved with her childishness. I have a heart to take care of.

It's Monday and it's a catholic holiday here, Saint Joseph and we celebrate Father's Day in the south of Switzerland and in Italy.

@LadyDuck it is so hard to let a parent go. it is harder if both parents are gone. we were left alone.

What really is making her act so violently? You should have a down-to-earth talk with her.

we often do. at times we even shout at each other, or not talk to each other. but sisters are sisters, and living under one roof, it is expected that after all the rants, we eventually get back together again.

You think it's her period or something? I don't think I can tolerate that attitude in the house. I doubt it's a good role model thing for your son, she should mind her manners at her age. I can't even begin to start a good day if a family member acts like that. NO not in this house.

hijo, i think you are not very updated as regards my life, for who am i anyway? my sister is a senior citizen, 67 years old, so she no longer has her period. long ago, her ovaries were already removed. my son and i are already accustomed to her attitude, but there are times still, that it gets into my nerves.

Yes, and you must take care of your heart. It's not good to get involved in such childishness.

true. i understand she has some illnesses, but she should not be so childish and be serious with what is bothering here. at times i keep mum if she rants because even if i am a nurse, if a person cannot accept the health teachings, i cannot do anything about it

Monday is the first day of work. And if you think about work, that means it is a continuous 5 day work which sometimes really makes us sigh... Maybe your sister doesn't want to go to work.. or maybe she doesn't want to get up early and prepare for work..

my sister is already retired. she stays at home, and sometimes go to the city proper for her personal errands. i am the only one who works offline. my son works online and is staying at home.

@magallon no, my friend. in fact, she is somewhat an OCD type of person. she wants all things in order. just a few minutes ago, she already closed the jalousies even though i or my son will close them when we go up to our rooms. she wants everything done quickly that is why we have some clashes at times.

that is true. she knows i am a nurse, but what irks me sometimes is, she has her own definition of the clinical manifestation she has. an example is her dysphagia (difficulty of swallowing), and right now, she reasons out that she has that symptom because her neck is always flexed.

@DianneN true. very true. hahaha! there are so many amusing situations that she narrates to me: the friends in a store near our house often complain of pains, and my sister gives the rationale of their illnesses, and she is not a nurse. sometimes, i disagree with what she told them so when i go to the store, i say the correct reasons.

I can be that stubborn too when I feel that Monday is another pain in my head. Mondays are not everybody's friend. Your sister must really hate Mondays but the negative vibes can also drain her and everybody around her. I hope she is okay and have accepted that Mondays will always be there.

@mlgen1037 it is better to have somebody with the same attitude as we have. There may be disagreement but at least we belong.
