Old People in Mylot

Some people in mylot who are probably couldn't help it notice that are seniors over here. I didn't have that curiosity before since mylot is a community of people regardless of age.
But I realized how lucky I am to have seen seniors over here. They have that years of experience and had openly shared it with us from time to time. Not to mention their own way of crazy and funny post.
We should feel blessed that what ever they have taught us in their discussions will carry on to the young ones. Let's just hope mylot doesn't close again and erase the post like what bubblews did
.
I wonder if you agree with or pissed off having them around mylot?
Personally, I don't think it's the same with out them. Ten years some what I have learned from this people, even if I tend to slip sometimes.
My mom handles an organization for seniors and yet I talk to seniors almost everyday
over here.

mylot makes me feel like i'm on equal footing with everyone else, that i can talk to people of all ages around the world, whatever their situation or background or status. there are even young people here who seem to know more about life and people and the world than me.

I don't think I was an old person when I first joined myLot, but I surely must be one by now. When myLot first started up they posted your age for everyone to see and there was no way to hide it. I didn't like that so I just made up an age. I put down that I was considerably older than I was. The fewer personal details we have about people in cyberspace the better in my opinion. It is not safe to reveal too much information, I think. But as an Aunt of mine said when she reached her 90's "I don't feel old inside" Now that I am getting up there, I do not feel old inside or out. I believe that age is a mental attitude.

Hello @drannhh JJ was one of the first who joined here back in 2005 and so many others. I joined three years later. In here yes we don't feel but young over here.

I prefer to be called a senior and not old (lol) We are well accepted here compared to the real world.

I am also happy to see old people here (no offense meant regarding old people term) because it means that their brains and fingers are still coordinating.

Hello @rakski I don't really get that kind of share from people in real life. I've always thought most seniors have tantrums and had gone back to the childish ways. Not in this site.

I love how everyone is free to share opinions and it doesn't mater about ages. Like you said, its nice seeing where the seniors add comments and share stories about times long gone past. It reminds us all of good things we shouldn't forget and better times. I also really like coming across a few teenager posts. It kinda helps with giving a good idea of what my kids might be like/ thinking when they get older.
I know its a whole different generation out there and I'm not very "hip" to the current trends my kids are facing in school.

I'm one of the seniors here on My Lot, who has only been an active member for 7 months. Do I know a lot? I'd like to think that I do, but on this site, I learn an awful lot about life in general, from the younger generation:)

I am one of the old ones you are talking abou and yes because we have lived longer and have more experience and if the young want to listen to what we have say that is good and if not that is too bad.
